In September 2020, Stinnett, TX police chief Jason Collier celebrated his wedding anniversary with his wife Opal. That December, he proposed to his girlfriend, a Kansas woman named Kristi Shaffer, who he had met online, but not actually met in person. By January 2021, he was discussing wedding plans while on a long weekend trip with his other girlfriend, Cecily Steinmetz. Each of these women believed they were in a loving, serious, monogamous relationship. That is, until everything came crashing down.
