Chances are, you have seen an AMBER Alert at some point either on your phone, a highway message sign, or one of the various other ways the system distributes information. AMBER Alerts are used all over the world to aid in the recovery of abducted children. The system has helped recover hundreds of children since it was created in 1996 and continues to do wonderful things. In this episode, we explain how the system was created, how an alert is issued, and the stories of the children that inspired the creation of the AMBER Alert.
